Good news, I found a sukkah I believe I will purchase later this year!!!!!!!
Sukkot is one of the most exciting of the Jewish holidays. I must admit that the idea of having your own sukkah is almost seemingly luxuriant in this day when any minimal observance is often passed up when it comes to dollars and cents. I was looking to buy one at some day in the future, though I can not say that I am that talented that I might wish to endeavor to build my own. To have your own sukkah, you are able to fulfill the Mitzvots of sukkah. I found one online that looks ok that will cost me 360 dollars. http://www.sukkot.com/tubular.htm. That is not too bad I guess. Its 8 by 10 feet in size, has canvas walls and a tubular structure. I do believe I will make the purchase towards July/August this year. I had recently found that I was very dismayed that I was unable to observe this ritual on my own. I had over the past few years sought even the most minimal time in a sukkah, whether at the synagogue or at the JCC. Even to step in for a few moments does help fulfill the mitzvah a small amount. But that said, one is best to dwell there and there is no reason why anyone should not have their own sukkah. For 360 dollars this is affordable (I had seen others that cost near 1000 dollars). I am not going to think that I am "going religious crazy" in any sense. This is a commandment and one that unfortuantely is not kept or valued by many of those I have known in my day. I am looking foward to having it in the front yard, sleeping on maybe a cot, having a few meals in it, reading my kindle and maybe even playing with the ipad during those hours. As well, I will use a radio I have that needs batteries and listen to some music. Maybe I'll even bring out some of my musical instruments such as a guitar or the like. Its meant to be. I will do it. Baruch Hashem!
