Personal hobbies

I must report that in days gone by, I was a major video game player.  In my youth I would go over a friends house to the point that I was a real pain just to play his Apple II games.  I later got a TRS 80 and had hours of canyon climber among other games.  I of course had an Atari 2600 since age 5 and it was my biggest plaything.  I had amassed over 40 video game cartridges in the years to follow.   I sat in the basement most of the time and played for hours.   Fun stuff.
I later had an Apple IIe myself, a nintendo gaming system and then the rest is PC games.
When I was a kid I would relish all the hours in the arcades.  No idea how many quarters I went through.  Many.  Every arcade was my haven.   I am sorry that kids today will never see that sort of situation, but its probably considered a threat to their security to be in a place with kids of all ages and unattended.  In this day and age that may be a set up for abuse and crime.
I must tell you that today, I play no games at all. I have played maybe one in the last year for a short time.  In the years I was recovering from hospitalization in 2001-5, I played quite a bit.  Computer games on the PC.  Fun games that got me to play againt players internationally.   Fun times.  But I can not say that I do any more now.  Perhaps its due to the fact that I am sick of playing or that perhaps because I really dont see any captivating games that I am allured to anymore.  Is the day of video gaming over with exception to the playstation and Xbox games?  I never saw an X box or play station game that even looked interesting.  Too complicated perhaps too.   So many buttons on those controllers......
I now must report that my past time for the past year since I started painting is microsoft's Paint program that comes installed on your PC.  Such a fun way to pass difficult moments where there is no activity.   I find that myself when I paint on the program my thoughts turn from one event or one person to another with every change of color.  I have a file of about 500 or more computer drawings that I say are visually pleasing.  I have no idea if there is a market for such a material but I do enjoy posting a few on the tulippatrol blog.  Maybe a screensaver?  Who knows.
Anyhow,  thats what this computer genuis does these days.
Dont ask me to fix your computer either. Its really not in my job description.  But I am glad to have a few skills.  And Dell Technical Support is the best.
