Living waters

Mikveh!!!!!
I must say that I read that if you are in a place where there is no Jewish presence and you have limited funds, you should sell your Torah Scrolls in order to build a mikveh.  Thats how important this basic community need is.
I must say that I am yet to visit one.  I have no access to one in my community. That is unfortunate.  I wish they would build one and supervise it at the JCC.   It could be done.  We have indeed one in our town, but it is only for ladies.  It is at a private home and likely admininstered by the wife of this home's owner.
I must say that I would definately plan to visit one a day or so before a marriage.  May it be Gods will to decide that to be in my future if its meant to be. Right?
I have read that the more religious men may even visit one every Friday.  So it would make sense that a community with over 1000 Jewish familes and more than that in Jewish souls may have a public one right?
Enough kvetching.
It is the sine qua non of the Jewish woman's existence to visit a mikveh once a month on her niddah or time of flow.  It is the only way that she can return to sexual relations.  Sexual relations are forbidden during the time of niddah. In fact, a husband I learned upon reading Leviticus the other day is not even allowed to look upon his wife's nakedness during this time period.  He is not to drink from her cup.  He is not to have physical contact with her.  Another reason that Jewish men do not shake womens hands.  He would have no idea if she was clean spiritually.
The living waters are usually rainwater (at least I think 60% right?) or from a brook or stream.
