Boats Boats Boats Boats and Boats

I was happy to go to Miami. The weather was great. I left Ohio in the month of January during a snow storm.  Miami here I come!!!!!
In my 2nd month in town, I attended the international boat show at the Miami Beach Convention center.  Was I impressed!!!!!!!!  It was amazing the boats that they had there.  I thought, wow, if I work hard, I could maybe get one... someday.... maybe not for 15 year I had bet...
So I went home.  When I got up the next day I think I had a message that I had "won a boat".  What?????????
I did.  A Logic Riot Sports craft, 12 feet long, powered by a Johnson 25 Hp engine.  Valued at 7000 dollars.  Well wow.  What was I to say.  To this day I profess that I can not remember filling in any contest entry form.  Maybe it was divine providence? I dont know. I won a boat.
So I hitched it to my suv and picked it up and brought it home.  I lived in an apartment near the airport and near the hospital at the time.  I had to keep it in a parking deck/lot.  I had a chain that I attached to the motor to keep it locked to the boat. I had a lock over the hitch. I didnt think it was perfectly secure, but I was satisfied.  Noone I knew was considering letting me keep it at their home (they could have used it anytime I say!).  So that said, I had 3 opportunities to take it out.  When my father and mother visited, I took them out in it.  Not bad.  A fun tour of Biscayne Bay.    Nice realestate only visible from the water.
It was intersting. I was not a boat guy but I was ready to give it a run.  I actually almost sunk twice.  The first time I had it in the water it seemed to take on water somehow.  Luckily I bailed myself out.  Another time I took it out to the ocean and across the cruise boat lanes.  The waves were higher than youd want and it was pretty scary.
Sadly this boat which I never even gave a name (maybe we can call it My Boat) was stolen in the 3rd month I had it when I was working at Sylvester. I was pretty annoyed.  I was not ready to part with it so fast.  Well, I had insurance.  It was not the end of my happiness in any way.  That said it was found in Hialieah in the middle of the road somewhere, stripped of the engine and console.  I was annoyed even more.  I had to pick it up and then I had no idea what to do with it. I eventually had a prospective buyer that offered to store it for me.  A nice Jewish fellow, a lawyer with a huge boat in his backyard.  The Logic Riot boat may have been a good boat to act as a dingy of sorts or a spare boat on his stern.  But he didnt purchase it.  He stored it for maybe 3-4 months.  A very nice gesture.  Eventually I did find a buyer and sold it for 1000 dollars to a university professor of some sorts. I was lucky. It was a real pain after finding it stripped.  A real pain.

Funny, the song of the time that year was "going to miami". I think I heard it a dozen times.
