Since age 5, I have lived in the Cleveland Area. I have over the years become a true dedicated and heart living Cleveland Browns Fan. Thats a fact that all who know me can acclaim. Many of my friends are Browns Fans and clearly a Browns fan is an ally. But that said, I must admit here that in growing up, I had 2 pennants on my wall from the time I believe I was born. An Eagles pennant and a Green Bay Packers Pennant. I do believe that one should choose one team in each conference, AFC and NFC to cheer. Why not??? I was born in Delaware, though I must relate that the only experience I can recall from that time was the moment I was a 2 year old sitting under a table eating ice cream from the container with our Dog, Shandy the Irish Setter making good progress to make sure that the Ice Cream did not last. I do recall going to Rehobeth Beach many times. Thats it. But Philadelphia some how has some pull on me. I routed for them this year in the playoffs. The Michael Vick situation is not creepy to me and I do not feel that the player has any further rumunification to make for his errant ways. He is actually an inspiration in that he now has done an 180 and extols virtue in the rest of those who wish to see animals treated humanely with his current actions. I do believe he deserves to own a dog some time in the future. Let be friends with honor. The man has paid the price for his tragic horrid paganistic disregard for the animal kingdom. I believe he deserves a second chance. He did not do anything that is actually considered against the Jewish religion as detailed in Torah. I do not have a major problem with Michael Vick. I am proud we live in a society whereby low level offenders of our spirit and culture can relive their lives with promise. So I today purchased an Eagles T shirt and a magnet that I plan to probably display in a yet to be decided location. This is a good move.
I will report that since being a child before I even knew what football was, I was slightly endeared to Green Bay. I never followed the team from the moment I became a football fan and supported the Browns.
Prior to being a Browns fan, I was marginally interested in the Miami Dolphins. I actually owned a set of Dolphins wrist bands that I wore all summer long when I was perhaps 6 or 7 years old. I was not aware of what football really was at the time, but I liked the teams icons. I can not attest that I am a big Miami fan today, though I might have some incentive to have some faith in their club since I was a Miami resident for a year. It did not end with a permanent home in Miami or a successful local career, but a part of me is still loving the Miami region. I do read the Miami Herald now on my kindle for 6 dollars a month, daily. Its a great paper. But I am not going to be purchasing any further Miami Dolphins Paraphenalia. I already have an AFC team I support and I feel that it might create a small but present conflict. I must admit that I felt like a weird kid in the eyes of our community after I had become a browns fan, having that personal history of wearing a Miami Dolphins wrist band so freely. It did not occur to me that there even was a Cleveland or local team at the time. I never watched football. I dont even konw if I even thought of the Browns at all during those years. Thats the experience I have. So Go Eagles. But Go Browns, Go Browns, Go Browns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
