Wearing a Kippah for the first time out of the synagogue

I believe it was around November 2007 that I decided I was going to wear a kippah in my daily activity.  Funny how I came to this notion. I believe I was watching Fox news and noticed that I think it was Bill Hemmer seemed to be wearing a kippah.  I thought, if he can do it, so can I.  In retrospect, I do not believe Bill Hemmer is Jewish. Is he? I don't think so.  In fact, I'm no longer sure I know what I had seen and clearly did not get the strongest image in my mind.  That said perhaps it was another announcer or perhaps Mr. Hemmer was indeed wearing a kippah or perhaps he had a shadow or light on his head that my mind took for a kippah.  Either way, it did not relate to the story, but inside of me, I had the impression that someone brave wore one on television.  I thought I could do that too.   I took a kippah that I had and began wearing it.  My father and mother were out of town for a week. I was on my own to do as I pleased.  I do report that I remember driving to pick up my parents at the airport.  I felt like a radical....  A RADICAL.   Thats what it feels like to wear a kippah in public.  Though now, I meerly feel that my head is covered and that suits me fine.
