End narcissistic self interest

The list continues.  A person of higher status in the work place, academic structure, household, place of worship or market place places their priorities against yours.  Not that their priorities are not higher. They most likely are. But when you approach someone of this sickness, their nature is to relate to you in an unfriendly and threatened sense of prosperity.  I do believe this one is very easily overcome, but it will take lots of feedback and discussion among the remaining persons in the social circle.   But that said, this is heresy and likely will be a topic that any person of a lower social status will feel in certain situations.  Rest assured, you are not to blame.
