Giving your car or vehicle a "human" name and why it is wrong to do

I know a woman and her father who are rumored to have given every car they own a personal human being name. At first I thought that was a neat way to be really funny and have a fun way to have a relationship with your really expensive and fun vehicles. But over the years it has stimied me and I must add that it is really a weak woman or weak mans idea of prosperity. I say that calling your car a human name is no different than naming your banana. It wont last forever and in time, every banana is forgotten under the sun. So don't name your cars a human name. Don't drive Betty to the Styx and don't drive Hugo to the Cigar Shop. You can call you r cars by a last name if may be like Name your pretty SUV, Montgomery like the English World War 2 General or maybe you can call your Yellow Volkswagon "Obama". But let's keep first names for human beings and only your candy cane. Its just a pet peeve and I think it goes further to being true foolish prides with which one must not consume his or her soul. I put a new pocket protector in my piggy bank and I might call it Montgomery too, but I will never name it a he or a she. That's my impression of this silly thing and I am glad they did it so that I might have something funny to write in my archives. Thanks!

I will add here that is is ok and good to do this if your car is in a movie or a subject of a book story like Carrie or Cujo or Dare I say Christine. And of course everyone loves Herbie the Love Bug. But if you name your car after a movie item that is ok. I don't think you should just give a name to give your car human characteristics, but if you do so, you better write a story about yoru car, whether you want to name him or her Jimmy D or Bookie T. Thats ok and I might have your name in my love file for that idea. Thanks!
