Discussion of War and Peace

To date, I have become a small but certain philanthropist in the realm of collegate education.
I personally have discovered that I really enjoy giving to colleges and universities.
I like to do so for various reasons.
I feel that I am supporting higher education.  Check.
I feel that I can connect with some schools that I might have enjoyed and thus, I feel I get some enjoyment out of knowing the school.  Check Check.
I like to watch their football teams and sports events and if I give even a small amount to a college, I now feel that I have a higher vested interest in the existence and winnings of any of those teams.

So therefore, in the past year, I became a small time philanthropist in the offering of donations to colleges and universities.

I hereby endorese this as a positive experience and wish to claim that it has been positive and beneficial in my own life.

My family is adamanly opposed to my existence as a small time philanthropist to the universities.
I am certainly a little bit in debt today, but I am quite sure that barring any unforseen horrid event, I will eventually be out of debt in the future.

That said, I am attacked as the argument goes "why would you give to a college or university since they have lots of money and they are not even your own school."

To this I say the following.  First look at the above benefits.  Second, it sure makes it official that you are a benefactor and thus you can wear their college attire and all that.  With that you can enjoy a number of universities regalia and you can indeed improve your own wardrobe or whatever else you may choose to invest upon.   Beer glasses?  Shot Glasses?  Coffee Mugs?  Got a few of some of that too.

So to those who are my nay sayers, I say this, I will give to a number of universities and I will be proud of the fact that I have indeed contributed in a small manner to the experiences of every student who graduates in regard to the fact that my donation can certainly spiritually be donated in a million and one way and then some.  True one penny can only go to one person in particular, but to donate say even 10 dollars, you are now entered into a fund of many monies and thus your dispersement is divided accordingly into the total.  You will touch every student.
