Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohainu Adonai Echad.
The Lord will reign for ever and ever.
So if G-d is one and G-d does not mess with the light of creation, what will your dust do to my brilliant light when you shake it off when I just do not receive the message of jesus?
Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Luke 9:5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
G-d is ONE.
I am quite sure that the dust from your little footwear will not effect my lifestyle and it probably wont subtract from the relationship I have with my Creator. But it might be memorable if someone wants to stomp around and make a tantrum I guess. Either way, you take jesus, I'll take G-d.
(there are many who actually take this verse literally. In reality this is a suggestion that the 'true believer' must absolve himself of any responsiblity for not getting someone else to take up the cloth of his religion if he or she tries to make the effort to share the gospels and the cross. Either way, I am not certain that G-d makes us all matches for the future with an anvil of presence that is going to change the world to a faith which may or may not be the authentic way of G-d. G-d is not going to send a messenger to everyone's doorstep with a message unless G-d is a nail polish dealer I would think. But I may be wrong. I am not a christian today. )
