Not that this is a major gripe of mine as it is so obscene that only a low life would do this to anyone else, but I will comment on this as it has happened to me in 2 ways on two occasions.
In my internship, I had a cardiologist whom I passed in the lunch line and perhaps he did not like me very much as a friend or a colleague and being that I was only in my earliest years when finances are scarce and you are doing your best and trying to improve your own lot, the fellow opened his wallet and sort of maliciously flashed his money in my face to indicate I assumed that he was a higher lot in life and that he had more going on for him and that his way was better than mine.
I am not competing with the cardiologists, but really, this was quite an affront to humanity and good will.
Another time in my Anesthesiology residency, I went to a department Halloween Party and the newly appointed program director whom I had already known to be a callous ambivilant and overshadowing man who hated my own newness to the program decided to tell me all of his monetary value in his bank and holdings. I felt this was pompous and outright abysmally heretical and violent as well. This guy is not one of any physicians I have ever held at any high proportions and of course, I left the program. Either way, this too is flashing your money in someones face.
Should I mention their names? The cardiologist was Dr. [name withheld] of Akron, OH and the Anesthesiologist was Dr. [name withheld] of Miami, FL. I am not sure that this makes much difference, but this was such an offense that is goes to being a crime and for criminals, I will make a comment to reveal themselves to the future and our children who may have to deal with them too.
This is not libel as they are who they are and they did what they did.
So good for America, I can fight for some sense of justice and propriety today.
