Israel has an issue now where the rabbis are trying to push for manditory religious education and Torah learning in the secular described classrooms throughout the State of Israel.
Whereas I think that this should be offered, I disagree that it needs to be mandated.
Here is my post on VosizNeias News today:
Israel is of course a great nation and a great state too. Israel does not have an issue with Torah learning being mandated since Torah is a requirement of the soul and not of the state. But G-d is in control. Israel does not respond to dictums and mandates on the souls needs, but only to Commandments. That is why Hashem has defined Torah as it completely was given. Torah is not our mainstay to destroy another persons credibility or his worth and to dictate that we need manditory torah classes in all of our 'secular' rooms is going to run a foul being in the trust we have in G-d. Many jews have issues and maybe G-d brings some to Torah and the wicked as always have no place in the world to come. So be good and worry more about your own service to your nation and G-d than you worry about the next guys service. Israel will survive as we have Hashem in our corner giving us and blessing us. Torah is a blessing to study and it is quickly understood by all who are Jews what Torah does, unless that person is a heretic or a fraud. And in that case, you will never beat him by forcing Torah but only by spirituality and holding fast to Torah yourself.
